This house was home to a rich Peranakan and you could see his family collection on the ground floor.
When you walk to the upper floor, it gets more personal. You will see bridal clothing and nyonya decorations and the potraits of the family that once flourished here.
With over 1000 artifacts, this museum is not only the best Chinese museum in Penang, but also the best in Malaysia.
Come here and see how the migrants came from China, assimilated with the Malays, befriended the British and accumulated so much wealth in such a short period of time.
If you come in groups of 10 or more, call to book your tickets. You might be given a walking tour that is more beneficial than seeing these historical gems on your own.
